//A real timeline, in a tab
Most free online editors upload your footage to a server, put a watermark on the result, or ask you to sign up before you can download anything. This one does none of that, because it never sends your video anywhere. The timeline, the preview and the encoder all run on your own device.
Drop in several clips and they land on a timeline you can actually work with: drag to reorder, drag the ends to trim, split at the playhead, and delete with the rest closing up behind it. Add text over the picture, put a second clip in the corner, lay music underneath, and crossfade between shots. When you are happy, export an MP4.
//What it can do
- Cut and arrange — trim, split, reorder, ripple delete, snapping, undo and redo.
- Transitions — crossfade, fade through black, wipe and slide between clips.
- Text — titles and captions with size, colour, outline or a background box, placed anywhere in the frame.
- Audio — background music on its own tracks, per-clip volume, fades, mute, and detach audio from a clip.
- Picture in picture — an overlay track for a second video or a logo, with scale, position and opacity.
- Speed — from a quarter speed to four times, with the audio pitched correctly.
- Shapes for every platform — 16:9 for YouTube, 9:16 for Shorts, Reels and TikTok, 1:1 and 4:5 for feeds.
//Honest limits
Encoding happens on your processor rather than a render farm, so exporting is not instant — a few minutes of 1080p can take a few minutes of waiting, and a phone is slower than a laptop. Export is MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio, which is what every phone, browser and social platform accepts; if you need WebM, a GIF or an audio file, the single-purpose tools do those.
Very large files are limited by browser memory rather than by us. If a clip is in a format your browser cannot play, the editor makes a playable copy first so the timeline stays smooth; often that is just a repackage and takes seconds.
FAQ
Do my videos get uploaded?
No. The editor decodes and encodes video inside your browser using FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. Your clips are copied into private storage on your own device and never sent anywhere. Open your browser's network tab while you edit and you will see it.
Is there a watermark or a time limit?
No watermark, no signup, no export limit. The practical limits are your device's memory and patience: encoding runs on your CPU, so a long project takes a while, especially on a phone.
What does it export?
MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio, at 480p, 720p or 1080p. That is the combination browsers, phones and social platforms all accept. For WebM, GIF or audio-only output, use the converter pages.
Where is my project saved?
In your browser's private storage on this device. It will still be there when you come back, but it is not a backup — clearing site data removes it, and it does not sync between devices or browsers. Export anything you want to keep.
Why did my clip need converting when I added it?
Browsers can only play a few formats. If your file uses a container or codec the browser cannot decode, the editor makes a playable copy so the timeline can scrub smoothly. Repackaging is quick; a full conversion takes longer, and you can keep working while it runs.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The timeline is built for touch: drag to scrub, pinch to zoom, press and hold a clip to move it, and the action bar at the bottom covers split, delete, speed and volume. Exporting on a phone is slower than on a laptop.
Can I work offline?
After the first visit, yes. The page and the encoder are cached on your device, so the editor keeps working with no connection.
//Single-purpose tools
If you only need one operation, these are faster than opening a timeline: trim a clip, join clips, compress to a size, convert format, extract audio, make a GIF, burn subtitles.
